One of the most favorite past times of a young puppy will be chewing. They use their mouth as another way of exploring their surroundings. In fact, at a certain age when they start teething, they will feel the need to chew things once again.

If you have ever had the benefit of owning a pitbull puppy, you probably had some first-hand experience at how well they aggressively chew things continually. They really seem to want to put everything inside their mouth. One of those things that ends up in the midst of their strong jaws and teeth will be their dog leash. This will be just one of those items that they consider their own toy to chew.

Getting the right kind of leash for your dog whether it will be a pit bull puppy or another breed or mix will be very important for your ability to control your dog. In fact, most municipalities require that you keep your dog on a leash when outside other than your own fenced in yard. For example, the proper a dog leash for a pitbull owner will be a sturdy, strong, secure and comfortable one for both your puppy and you to use.

Purchasing a dog leash will be one of the most important tools that you use with respect to your dog. If you happen to own a very strong dog like a pitbull that also delights in chewing, you might consider getting a nylon material leash that will take the punishment over time. Nylon leashes will resist the potential destruction caused by a puppy's teeth when chewed upon. My personal favorite leash will be a leather one.

Most professionals will not suggest you use a chain leash because of various reasons including the fact that has a great possibility of cutting your hands when the dog pulls. Another undesirable feature of the chain leash will be its weight. Chain leashes will weigh considerably more than the other available leashes.
